Saturday morning I was in REM sleep composing my blog entry for this week. During this REM cycle, I included a reminder to myself to write all of the blog that I was composing down as soon as I wake. Because…it was brilliant.

Then something happened.

I started to hear sounds that were not a part of my creative development process of the blog entry. There was gentle moving of stuff and tip toeing and more moving things. Well, I tried to ignore the sounds and go back to my sleep and my blog but my rapid eye movement gave me away. Then I heard it.

My husband said “Good Morning.  [slight pause] The car show is today”.

And just like that, BAAM! In that moment, I was officially awake and my blog entry was wiped clean from where ever dreams are stored.

It was also in that moment, I knew that greeting meant a whole lot more than what was said. It’s not what was said, it was how it was said. I could hear the happiness. It really meant….I have plans for us. The car show is today and I am looking forward going to the car show and taking pictures. So the sooner you get up and get your camera ready, we can run some errands and get on over to the car show before it gets way to hot.

While I was getting ready, I started to hear the Roar of enhanced engines in route to their display destination.  Or maybe that was my imagination.

With that, what could have been a regular ole hot scorching day turned into a great outing at the local car show talking to car enthusiast from the High Rollers Car Club, admiring the fabulous cars, and taking photographs.
